Wow that is some mane!! And I am very jealous you have something growing already...we never get spring until Memorial Day it seems. Boo. Shoveled snow this morning. Some day I am going to get back to starting plants indoors.
I am still lovin' that Pink Pony!
Hey, my carrots sprouted! Oh, joy of joys, to feed my horse a carrot I grew for him! They say you have to thin them out, I wonder if the horse can eat the little babies?
My peas are behind yours, but they're out of the ground too! I can't wait to wrap their little vines around the wire mesh I installed for them. Those snap peas are not gonna make it into any recipes, I don't think, cuz we're just gonna eat them off the vine.
My basil also sprouted, funny how putting them on a sunny windowsill above a radiator helps.
This is just too much fun, having my own place. And as I type this, the guys are attaching fence rails to the posts they just fastidiously rammed in. It's a good thing to hear when you walk by, and they say, "2 more centimeters!" with their bubble level thingies. Exactness. It's very German. And we're city folk, so I'm happy to let them do it!
We're having a windstorm and I'm praying fervently for no rain today.
~lytha, who will be putting in her own Tposts though, when they arrive!
hey lady - I'm just coming up for air and catching up on old posts. On the safety first post, I have a question. I was always taught to stand on the opposite side as the farrier when they are working the fronts and the same side when they are working the back. The rationale as explained to me was that a handler on the opposite side on the fronts could more easily move the horse in the opposite direction of where the trimmer was working. The same applied to the rear; standing on the same side meant that a pull towards the handler would swing the hind end away from the trimmer.
So, different than the same side all the time approach. Curious on your thoughts there and pros/cons on either side.
