Sonny's Sunday

There IS sun today. Which is good- as it is working slowly slowly at drying up the lake in His Royal Highnesseseses paddock. Sonny is wound. Like an eight day clock wound. Bouncing off the walls -were there any walls that is, to bounce off of. He is snorty, blowing, tossing his head and flagging his tail and basically dancing in place in impatience.

I did manage to free His Nibs from the mess of the paddock on a couple of occasions this week, but today.... Today I fear I am just too sick to be out there. My head is pounding, my nose runs at a non-stop fast drip, and the small act of bending over to tie on my boots left me breathless and the room spinning. Dear Husband merely shook his head and helped me back up. He knows as long as I can get the boots ON, nothing is going to stop me from at LEAST going out to toss Sonny hay and freshen his water.

Anything else though, will have to wait.

Instead, I leave you with this thought, as I head off in search of more Puffs Plus tissues and my couch:

Christmas? Almost here.
I am not ready.
Right now, I have no Cheer.
My nose glows like Rudophl's,
All rosy and bright,
And with fevered delusion,
I wish you all a Good Night...

Merry Christmas y'all.... stay healthy!

Get well! Love the poem. BTW- I still have all my shopping to do. I like doing the shopping last minute because I find that I actually spend less and all the hustle and bustle makes it exciting and festive.

Ugh - a Christmas cold and a horse with no place to go!

It will get better.

Santa will bring more sun and kleenexes.

Sounds like a nasty cold! I recommend tea with lemon & honey and eating lots of garlicky food. (seems to do the trick for me at least)

Hope you feel better soon and find your Christmas cheer. It should be a blast with those two little men of yours!

Awww-Sorry to hear you got the bug. Hopefully your feeling better soon.

I hear ya on the "holiday spirit". I'm just not there. Picked up the last of the presents, that I knew I wanted to get today. Thought it might be a zoo trying to shop. Not so much. ??? Not nearly as many people as I thought there would be. Didn't have to part in the back 40 at any of the parking lots and people seemed to be in pretty decent moods.

Now to find a few little stocking stuffers and get the "mom's" presents FedExed and I'll be in good form.

Just remember, alcohol cures everything. Well, at least you won't care that you're sick, or something like that LOL.

So sorry you are ill. Poor Sonny. He must feel so neglected. First you let his yard flood and then you will not play with him....
