Dear FED EX...

Ah FED EX... You have let me down once again. Your Customer Service Reps are quite nice and polite, doing all they can to track a pretty important package for us, but your driver- not our USUAL driver mind you, who shoots at the range with Dear Husband and knows well where we live-- but a replacement driver... yeah-- she SUCKS. She apparently can not follow the carefully detailed directions, including mileage and landmarks. Now our USUAL driver? Mr. Don? Yeah-- HE ROCKS. But this chick? Is LYING to you. No, she did NOT ever call to verify the address and get directions. No, my phone did NOT send a blocked call message out because I don't HAVE call block ability. No, she was NOT out here yesterday. And most importantly, NO SHE WAS NOT OUT HERE TODAY. Oh-- and YES there WERE people around all THREE times the package was slated for delivery, who ALL know how to answer the phone and give directions! TA-DAAA!!! Still no package, FEDEX.

Guess what FED EX! You got a bonafide first class idiot working in Mr. Don's place! WHOOHOO! Yipee for all the people she is ignoring out this way! And to think you charged the sender of this package a LOT of money to make sure the package was DELIVERED.. but since you can not DELIVER the package, *I* personally think YOU need to send the sender a REFUND. Because the ONLY way we know the package will be safely arriving at The Asylum will be for Dear Husband to go and PICK IT UP himself. That does not quite say DELIVERY to me. Oh no.. that says PICKED UP to me.

So Dear FEDEX, do not expect any kind words or further business from us. In fact, I'm pretty sure that you just lost all of the business from The Range as well. Which really is a considerable amount of business. Will loosing that business sink you? No, probably not. But it WILL help your competitor UPS grow a bit more. Or Heaven Forbid-- it will help the US Postal Service hang on a wee bit longer as well.

Thanks pretty much for nothing, FEDEX. I'm happy that your customer service reps are polite and kind, and I appreciate that fact. But your delivery? Unless it is Mr. Don, the rest of the "delivery" drivers that have (NOT) been scheduled to "deliver" (by the way-- deliver means to actually take the package TO the receiver, OK?) The rest of the "delivery" drivers pretty much SUCK MOOSE.

Signed,
One Very Disgruntled FORMER Customer

I totally could have written this! I am still grumbling about the UPS "delivery" that was a baby shower gift for my former renter... and all the lies that went along with it... and how it was finally discovered out in the RAIN.

So sorry - but I encourage you to actually send the letter to FedEx. I've had a good rate of response when I let companies know their service sucks. I mean... Ben & Jerry's might have actually sent me some free ice cream... :)

Personally speaking, I don't think Fed Ex could find it's own butt with both hands, even if it was on fire. But I do know that if they can't find you but know someone with a last name spelled 1 letter off & in the next town they will deliver your package to them...

I can top that!
My ex bought his new to be wife a very VERY VERY expensive enagement ring in FL. He lives in Ohio.

he got it - wrong ring to FED EX with Insurance back to store in FL.

ring box arrived to store ... EMPTY !!!!!

it took him 1 laywer + several months to get the insurance out so he could settle his debt with the jeweler.

Verification word is "Fangs" how appropriate!!!!

Juanita and I were riding our horses, Jesse and Ranger, down a dirt road just west of the lodge one day a summer or two ago. A Fed X truck came SCREAMING around a turn, down the road on the wrong side. Our horses leaped off the road across the drainage ditch before we even had a chance to que them. Ranger stared down the road after the dust cloud and asked me "What the hay-hole was THAT all about?" I told him "That is a truck from a company I will NEVER use again"..
He was Okay with that.

Wow,I know what that feels like, we never get FED EX actully delivered, we end up having to go pick it up. Plus I dont think any of them realize that there is no cell phone service where I live. UPS seems a quite a bit more steady.

Why is it when it's really important that the "regular" guy is gone and our precious whatever ends up in the hands of some less than competent. What a bummer!

UH OH! I know how you feel about delivery people. Too bad you don't have can par in the US. They are great!

FedEx blows, every time I get something shipped by them (never my choice) it always takes about 5 years for them to get it to me. UPS all the way!

We've had issue with UPS too, but no where NEAR the problems with FEDEX over the years. Nothing BUT problems until Mr. Don took over this area- he has been great. Apparently though when he isn't around, we are back with jackwagons that indeed can not find their butts with both hands, even if said butt was on fire.

We aren't THAT hard to find. We are s a simple FIVE miles off a major interstate, down a busy well paved, high traffic road way, less than a 1/4 mile off the main road. Only house out here at the very end of the road, located on a damn LAKE-- the ONLY lake out here this close to the interstate. It's ONE TURN for Petes sake!!! And these fricken idiots cant FIND Us??? PUHLEEZE.

My Fed Ex experiences have been real let downs, too. They just leave my packages at the Post Office. UPS squishes things, but they can find the place. I have to say my Post Office and my mail carriers ROCK!

Who has the best delivery service is SO variable. Right now FedEx and UPS both know where we live and bring stuff on time, but the USPS? SUCKS! They lost a birthday present, then lost the replacement even though it's got a tracking number. It was mailed in October, went to Reno, then Cali, then Reno, then Cali, then Reno, then Cali, then nowhere for a week, then ATLANTA?!!? Every supervisor we've talked to is totally powerless to help us. :(

Anyway. That's my little rant. I feel your rage. :-/

We can never send my sister in Chicago anything by USPS because they use cats as mail carriers and you know how ADD cats are.

Give me the good people at big brown, aka UPS every time.

I hope said item got into the right hands in time despite the dramatic voyage.

I worked for FedEx for 13 years - two in the hub in Memphis, three as a driver for Ground in AK and the rest as a driver in Louisville and Anchorage. All the delivery services are only as good as their drivers. I took special "pride" in being a swing driver for 14 routes in Louisville. I ran those routes as well (or better) than the regular driver.

In Louisville I was running a route where the regular driver told me not to delivery packages to a particular address while she was on vacation. I wanted a 100% delivery rate for that route though so I attempted the delivery. Turns out they were growing KY's biggest cash crop and wanted to deter me from being in their barn lot. The second shotgun blast over my head convinced me that I really didn't want to make that delivery.

After 13 years I can tell you so many horror stories about lost packages and uncaring employees. I hope your package gets there undamaged when your regular driver gets back.

Oh, I do think there is so much truth to what AKPonyGirl said. It's too bad more companies don't establish high expectations for high levels of customer service, especially in this economy where good folks need jobs.
This may be changing. Have you noticed better service in some stores lately?!

Good luck, Mrs. Mom!
